Oh yeah, I went there.

Hello Everyone!! So the last time I blogged, it was Thursday. Well, I can tell you, many a great thing has happened since.
Thursday I could barely wait for work to end. We biked home, I made a KILLER tomato-avacado-tunafish on lettuce salad for dinner and Kim drops me off at the Goleta Amtrak. The train is actually ten minutes early, I hop on and figure out which side is going to be surfed. God, the view was gorgeous. Surf, then quaint houses, then an incredible sunset in the hills.... But I was sooo imaptient to get off!! So We arrive at Burbank, fourty minutes behind. I get picked up (after a good tackle-huggling) by the illustrious [info]ebrooklynw and her gorgeous compatriot Rachel. We go back ot the house, drop off some stuff, I PIG OUT on cherries and we go off for our appointment. Seriously, it's embarassing how weak I am when it comes to fresh fruit. Thank God they didn't have Rainiers or I'd be completely ashamed. Anyway! Our reservation was at a HOOKAH bar!! It was a hoot! The stuff tasted like cotton candy and incense and we three were silly and chatty. Hookah is more for social interaction than anything else. I was not buzzed, high, wasted, or any thing after ward. Granted, sucking on smoke isn't totally A-OK for the bod, but still. Oh and chai-hot choco is a DELISH!
Friday we clambered into the car to drive from Burbank to San Diego for the next stretch of our trip. It took us almost five hours and poor Emily was driving the whole thing. I fell asleep at one point, woke up half and hour later, only to note we had gone five miles. We FINALLY got to Lynne's house, where we unloaded our stuff, drank a gallon of water and met the Mom of Lynne. Lynne took us to the Corvette Diner, a FUN place!! I had the Big Daddy Hawaiian 5-0, yum and a root beer float. We played Straw Wars and I ended up with six straws behind my ears. We got to listen to Mustang Sally, dedicated to the 'Lead Foot from LA' ( XD ) and Devil in a Blue Dress for Lynne. We walked around the artistic plaza the C.D. was in, went to a gay shop. Rachel found a magnet that says "My dentist isn't gay, but he loves to stick his equipment in my mouth." I blinked and said "But he is", which got Rayray on the floor. We went with Lynne and her mom to the Midnight Party for Parry Hotter. *pbbt* We each got a glow-necklace, read old classics like Riki-tiki-tembo nosorembo, and I found out to my horror, that people did NOT grow up on THUNDER CAKE!!!!!!! ( O_O ) How?!?!?
Saturday... ahhhhhh. COMIC-CON!! *squeeeee* Got more booty for my walls and family. We went all over those vendors, we even sat in a panel with the ....CAST OF SERENITY!!! Well, no Alan, much to my pains. Nathan was a ham, almost enough that I wanted to start hitting him. We squeeed like little fangirls. We then jumped up a level and ran to the other side of the place to see theTeen Titan panel, with the voice actors and scriptwriters. Thing I didn't know: Ron Perlman is Slade! And the guy who does the voice of Trigon, well, he didn't NEED a mike and when he boomed his lines, half the chicks there started fanning themselves. *drools*
He: I AM THE RULER OF EARTH! Women: HALLELUJAH!! We went to the Field for dinner, a real Pub, literally from Ireland and I loved it. I nearly sprayed leeky-spud soup when I recognized the band being piped in. Lynne took us there because of me. *hugs the Lynne* And then we did not go see the advanced screening of Serenity for free. Nothing will be said of it, except the fact that I WILL SO go and pay for a real ticket to see it and my quote at the end of this blog. :: squees in anticipation :: Atthe opening night, my buds are dressing up as the crew. I am Wash, the smart-ass pilot, who plays with plastic dinos and wears horrendous hawiian shirts. Hee!!
So sunday we drag our butts out of bed, hit a REALLY GOOD DENNY's (stunned) and the Nothern Three hit the trail. We made really good time back up, hit Philipe's for lunch and got me to the train station at 2:50 for my 3:15 train. At 6:30, I called Emily for a pick up; the engine of my train died and they were pushing my ride to close to eight, for a two and a half hour ride. Bless Emily's heart, and her parent's patience, I got to board at the Wilheims once more for the night. When we got back, Frankie and Cathy were there!!!!! We had a yummy dinner of kebobs and REALLY REALLY GOOD PEACH COBBLER, then played a round of Clue, where I killed off (WITH HELP!!!) the rest of the cherries. I crashed at 11 and got up to be dropped off for the 9:30 train. The ride seemed much shorter and I witnessed the Train Two-Step. I wanted to beat the old men behind me who talked really loud and kept noting that EVERYTHING CIVLISED ALONG SIDE THE TRACKS WAS NOT THERE THE LAST TIME THEY WENT THROUGH. Maaaaa. Got back to UCSB, where I was bored with no work, came home, had stirfry, found out that my Laptop won't read my burning CD, so i'll have to burn it at the Lab. ( I have a presentation tomorrow maaaaaa) I talked to my mom, cuz I miss her like crazy, and in the middle, the land-lady comes over. Turns out the last roomie WILL NOT be here and would I mind trading keys. :: pause for gleeful dance :: Now I have my own room, with two beds and twice the pillows, towels, and blankets. I have a Sleeping Bed and a Computer Bed. Huzzah!!!!
So that has been the last five days. I am in week six of my internship and exactly one month till Mills starts up.
And with no further adieu:
'I am like a leaf upon the wind'
